And, he is a most remarkable man. He grew up in the Fillmore District - during a time that there was hope and aspiration. During the late 60s and early 70s people believed that everyone could pull together to improve the world and make it a kind and livable place to be. A place that celebrated equal rights, encouragement, and peace. Click for Frankye Kelly Interview with Wayne Wallace. Wayne Wallace has devoted his life and talent to the trombone and to making hit after hit for himself and others. He also has devoted his life to being an aspiration and a fantastic teacher to young musicians. On May 26th you will have a chance to hear him play at Yoshi's with his full fabulous band. The benefit concert will support the Florence Crittenton services - a San Francisco institution that reaches back to the early part of the last century. Originally Florence Crittenton Services was a home for unwed mothers. Now it entire families are supported and taught how to build strong family bonds and how to raise children that are healthy in body, mind and spirit. It will be a true honor to support such a fine cause and to celebrate such great music in such a historic, yet new, jazz heritage venue - Yoshi's - SF. Make your reservations early!! It will be sold out! Wayne Wallace just released BIEN BIEN! and it has been a great hit in all the Jazz journals.
