Along with the rare “Living Legends” concert, the line-up includes Jazz Heritage Center’s first major donor Koret Foundation’s acknowledgments of the legendary performers’ contribution to the genre. Well-loved local media personality Noah Griffin kicks off the celebration introducing performances by the Village Project Kids as they sing “Lift Every Voice” and Handful Players as they unveil a scene from award-winning Marcus Gardley’s original new play "The Fillmore Five: A Jazz Musical Rhapsody."

The Jazz Heritage Center has been developed to rediscover, identify, and celebrate San Francisco’s contribution to the history of Jazz. Located at 1320 Fillmore, on the corner of Fillmore and Eddy Streets, the JHC is based in the hub of the historic Jazz Preservation District.  This location is the first permanent exhibition space to showcase the history of San Francisco’s origins of jazz as well as the national contributions to the evolution of jazz.

JHC’s goal is to showcase San Francisco’s important place in the history of jazz through interactive and traditional exhibitions, live presentations and jazz themed art as featured in the Lush Life Gallery.  www.jazzheritagecenter.org
