Climate Change

Ivor Kellock calls on everyone to take a long-range point of view on Climate Change. His group promotes discussion and debate on arriving at agreement on real solutions to our shared global problem - Climate Change.

Finding solutions is important, yes, but we will benefit by encouraging those of us already involved to get more people active in the political debate. Lobbying our politicians to ensure they truly serve US and future generations by making difficult and some may say unpopular decisions now.

So please global leaders go ahead and make them! Stop procrastinating. This is our children's futures you are playing with.

To immediately get involved please vote for your favourite leader going to Copenhagen here. Ask your friends to vote as well. All politicians are all too aware of their voting public! Lets remind them how they go there. the link for voting is http://bit.ly/GlobalLeadershipAward

The Nominees are the only elected global leaders who are committed to be ''at Copenhagen''

The winner will be announced at the Environmental Parliament awards at the Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen on the evening of the 13th of December. .

Thanks for taking part!

I firmly believe that in our collective consciousness we have the answers - lets debate and share within this forum to decide what ideas make sense and then work together to promote these ideas to get them to the top of the political agenda, academic agenda and public vote. For the first time in human history we have the communication tools to work together as one planet. It is clear our global leaders really don't have the answers - or are afraid of facing reality - let's show them we are grown up enough to accept tough choices and most importantly help them appreciate what we can do collectively. Why should global leaders have all the answers? They are after all public figures only.

I am concerned that all high profile existing solutions focus on reduction of emissions. Which means us using lesser amounts of fossil fuels. Great in principal but when you realise that our entire global infrastructure is reliant on fossil fuels for food, energy and water it becomes clear why our global leaders can't agree on reductions! It will have disastrous effects on our populations and economies in the short and medium term.

We don't actually want reductions ourselves! What we want is a concerted effort to implement viable alternative energy supplies. This of course will likely have a huge impact on some of our large corporates but new ones will rise to take their place. And solutions that absorb excess CO2 from the atmosphere.
