Community Support helps to heal

Michael L. Ennis, of the Alameda Veteran Services offices assists Veterans and their families with the Veteran Services applications. The Alameda County Veteran Services are free of charge. The organization was established in the early nineties to assist veterans with the often challenging application process. Be sure to apply within five years of your service. Apply as soon as possible. This may prove to be the better way, just in case the rules change again.

If you have served in active duty for a minimum of ninety (90) days the veteran, and the family, and/or the survivors are eligible for some type of help. If you were injured during boot camp you still may be eligible. National Guard members will have had to serve over 90 days during war time. They are eligible regardless whether they were active enlisted persons or part of the national guard.

Depending on the assistance program the definition for eligibility a quite different from each other. This "red tape" is challenging and can be particularly frustration to someone that is under severe stress. The VA is currently backlogged and often their phone systems are overburdened. That is why it is more comfortable to get help from the Alameda VSO.

Contact Michael L. Ennis and his staff for help. HIs team is empathetic. Let his office deal with all the forms, rules, and regulations for you.
