Interview with Keith Carson and his health analyst Amy who assists his efforts to explore Federal Funding opportunities. Keith Carson describes the role of Government as providing health services when there is no other choice. Government provides a safety net to Mental Health, Public Health, Economic Health and Primary Care. Keith Carson's explains how his role has changed since his re-election. He talks about social services, senior assistance, and his expectation that soon 1 in 5 inhabitants in his District will be older than 80 years old. Where will they go for care?

His team also supervises the foster care system. Local and county Government assistance is the last stop for individuals when they need assistance. Keith explains that in the past this need affected mostly the unemployed and the elderly. Lately, however, it is required also by people who are employed since often minimum wage jobs no longer provide sufficient funds to care for an entire family. He mentions the issue of the "working poor". Health Care issues are affected by rising health care costs and the rising prices for medicine.
